Newly Merged Baluch Militant Group Claims Attack on IRGC

A newly formed Sunni Baluch militant group calling themselves the People’s Resistance Front (Jabh-e Mobarizin-e Mardomi) has (https://t.me/jmmfront) responsibility for yesterday’s attack that (https://farsnews.ir/zahedan75007/1765384788336220552) four IRGC personnel in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province.

The group, describing itself as a merger of several Baluch factions, released a (https://t.me/jmmfront/24) on Telegram shortly after announcing its formation, with a masked spokesman saying the operation targeted officers involved in repressing local communities, including during the 2022 protests.

The incident appears to be the first major operation following U.S.-designated terror organization Jaish al-Adl’s November 29 (https://ir.tgstat.com/uz/channel/@mediaadl/720) of plans to merge with other Baluch groups.
