Norooz: A New Day for Iran | An Evening of Hope and Solidarity

For many centuries, Iranians have marked the end of winter as the beginning of a New Year. Their celebration of this occasion, known as Norooz—literally “New Day,” in English—has served to renew the bonds that unite the families and communities that make up the Iranian Nation.
This year, as Iran endures one of the darkest chapters in its modern history, we gather for Norooz in a different spirit. Our Norooz evening will be an occasion of solidarity and remembrance—an opportunity to honor the courage and sacrifice of those who have given their lives in the fight for freedom, dignity, and justice. It is a moment to stand together with the Iranian people and to affirm that their voices and sacrifices are not forgotten.
The evening will also look forward, to a future shaped by the courage of those who have risen up, and to the promise embedded in Norooz itself: renewal after hardship.
As we return to Washington, D.C. for our fifth annual gathering, we also reaffirm our collective responsibility. NUFDI remains committed to mobilizing the Iranian-American community and sustaining support for the Iranian people at this critical juncture. Your presence is an act of solidarity, and your support helps ensure that this movement continues to be seen.
We hope you will join us for this meaningful evening of remembrance and resolve, as we honor those lost, stand with those still fighting, and hold fast to the belief that Iran’s long winter will give way to a new day.
