Parmida Barez

Parmida Barez, born in Iran and raised in Canada, holds an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Business and a Bachelor of Education. Her background spans corporate and non-profit sectors, where she has led leadership and training initiatives, served on a non-profit’s board of directors, driven and developed education and community-building programs, and championed women’s empowerment and fundraising efforts.

Her role at NUFDI includes contributing to the strategic development and execution of large-scale initiatives and campaigns, encompassing campaign strategy, content planning, media relations, public engagement, donor-facing initiatives, and parliamentary engagement in support of human rights and a democratic future for Iran.

She has appeared on major national and international media outlets including CBC, CNN, BBC, CTV, Times Radio, CityNews, Manoto, and Iran International, speaking on human rights in Iran and the Iranian people’s aspirations for freedom and democracy. Her spoken-word works, “O Iran” and “Woman, Life, Freedom,” have reached millions worldwide.
